Our Approach

Our Mission

We aim to work with you to explore why you’re in pain, working as a team to discover the individual formula that will be the key to relieving it and getting you back to doing what you love doing.

Our Core Values and Beliefs

We believe each person should be treated with dignity and respect, with attention given to their individual circumstances.

Nobody should have to depend on healthcare. Often it is you, the patient, who has the answers and solutions to the problem. Our job is to listen attentively, help you understand the problem and provide you with the tools to not only get back to a pain-free life but reduce the chances of the pain reoccurring.

Why are we different?

At the forefront of our contemporary approach to osteopathic care is the biopsychosocial model of healthcare. This holistic framework considers the person as a whole, taking into account previous medical history, a person’s thoughts, feelings and emotions and everything within the context of their wider individual factors. We strive to put an end to the treatment trap that is often provided for spinal pain, giving you control over your pain and the platform to create lasting results.

Our practice

We use cognitive functional therapy which has been shown to reduce pain and improve quality of life at a fraction of the cost of usual care. This is implemented in three stages:

1. Making sense of your pain: This starts with making sure you’re safe to treat by ruling out any serious causes of pain by taking an in-depth case history. Your story will be carefully listened to, with plenty of time to share worries and concerns and express how it has affected you both physically and mentally. This includes a working diagnosis, care planning and goal setting.

2. Exposure with control/Physical treatment: This is the physical part of the consultation that may include manual therapy, relaxation techniques and controlled exposure to painful functional tasks that you value.

3. Lifestyle Coaching: This includes individualised physical activity modifications, sleep hygiene, nutrition advice and assistance getting back to social engagements such as work and other valued activities.
